DETROIT, Michigan, Aug. 7 -- The American Civil Liberties Union, an organization that works to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the U.S., issued the following news release on Aug. 6, 2023:

According to a new lawsuit, the Detroit Police Department has wrongly arrested yet another person based on a faulty facial recognition match. Porcha Woodruff, who was eight months pregnant at the time, is the sixth person to report . . .
