The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, the federal agency for historic preservation, recently closed a call for comments on the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. First published in 1979, the Secretary's Standards are widely used in the preservation field to guide the treatment of historic buildings and resources.
