WASHINGTON, July 12 -- Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Maryland, issued the following news release on July 12, 2023:
U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen (both D-Md.) today appeared at the Senate Judiciary Committee to introduce U.S. Magistrate Judge Matthew Maddox at the start of his confirmation hearing for a seat on the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. The senators had recommended Judge Maddox to President Joe Biden who made the nomination earlier this year.
