WASHINGTON, June 24 -- Rep. Alex Mooney, R-West Virginia, issued the following news release on June 23, 2023:
Yesterday, H.J Res 44, to strike down the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' (ATF) unconstitutional pistol brace rule, failed in the U.S. Senate on a party-line 49-50 vote. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) was the deciding vote.
The U.S House of Representatives by a bipartisan vote of 219-210 passed H.J Res 44 to overturn the pistol brace rule. . . .
