WASHINGTON, March 4 -- Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, issued the following news release:
U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) Reconnecting Communities Pilot program has awarded Akron a $960,000 grant to create a community-based plan that will transform a vacated portion of Akron's Innerbelt (State Route 59) to better serve Akron residents.
