TUNIS, North Africa, Feb. 25 -- Human Rights Watch issued the following news release on Feb. 24, 2023:
Tunisian authorities have arrested three critics of President Kais Saied since February 22, bringing the number of public figures deemed critical of Saied behind bars to at least 12, Human Rights Watch said today. The president has denounced them as "terrorists" and "traitors."
