WASHINGTON, Feb. 4 -- Rep. Don Beyer, D-Virginia, issued the following news release on Feb. 3, 2023:
Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA), the outgoing Chairman of Congress' Joint Economic Committee, today hailed the news in the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) jobs report for January, which showed that the U.S. economy smashed expectations with 517,000 jobs created in January, as the unemployment rate fell to its lowest level since May of 1969:
