COLUMBIA, Missouri, Jan. 13 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service - Missouri Field Office issued the following news release:

Corn: Planted area, at 3.35 million acres, is down 7 percent from 2021. Corn for grain was harvested on 3.12 million acres, down 9 percent from last year. The corn yield is estimated at 161 bushels per acre, up 2 bushels from 2021. Production is estimated at 502 million bushels, down 8 percent from last year.
