WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 -- The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics issued the following document from the Economics Daily:

Employment in the Appalachian region grew 1.5 percent from 2001 to 2021, less than in counties that neighbor Appalachia (7.2 percent) and counties in the rest of the United States (12.0 percent).
