WASHINGTON, Dec. 9 -- Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tennessee, issued the following statement on Dec. 8, 2022:

Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, today voted for the Respect for Marriage Act, protecting the rights of couples in seme-sex and interracial marriages.
The vote on passage was 258 to 169.
