Basil Smikle, the former executive director for the New York State Democratic Party, says polling showing a GOP surge in New York is "concerning."
Smikle notes that with crime as a "salient" issue for voters of both parties and Democrats facing national headwinds, Sean Patrick Maloney and Josh Riley's races "should concern Democrats."
