ORLANDO, Florida, Oct. 15 -- Rep. Val Demings, D-Florida, issued the following news release on Oct. 14, 2022:
Today Rep. Val Demings (FL-10) and other members of the Florida Congressional Delegation sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack requesting a U.S. Department of Agriculture disaster declaration for the state of Florida, which would unlock federal assistance for farmers who experienced crop loss and damage from Hurricane Ian.
