TOPEKA, Kansas, Sept. 28 -- The Kansas Democratic Party issued the following news release:
Governor Laura Kelly announced debt from the Kansas Department of Transportation has been paid off early, saving Kansas taxpayers over $22 million. This is the first time in state history that Kansas has been in a position to pay off this debt early, and comes after years of fiscal mismanagement that robbed the Kansas Highway Fund of $2.6 billion under Sam Brownback and Derek Schmidt.
