WASHINGTON, Sept. 22 -- Sen. Susan M. Collins, R-Maine, issued the following news release on Sept. 21, 2022:

In advance of a markup in the Senate Rules Committee, support continues to build for the Senate's legislation that would reform and modernize the outdated Electoral Count Act of 1887.
