WASHINGTON, Sept. 14 -- Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, issued the following news release on Sept. 13, 2022:
U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, released the following statement today after the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the consumer price index (CPI) for August was 8.3 percent, which is higher than expected.
"American families are hurting as inflation remains close to its highest level in nearly 40 years, the economy . . .
