RALEIGH, North Carolina, Sept. 13 -- The North Carolina Democratic Party issued the following news on Sept. 12, 2022:
Tonight, Ted Budd will attend a fundraiser in Rockingham County named after segregationist former Senator Jesse Helms whose career was marked by racism and bigotry. North Carolina Democratic Party Chair Bobbie Richardson released the following statement in response:
"As an alumna of the then-still-segregated Perry High School, my brothers and sister . . .
