WASHINGTON, Aug. 12 -- Rep. Ted Budd, R-North Carolina, issued the following news release on Aug. 11, 2022:
Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) has submitted an amendment to the "Inflation Reduction Act" that would prohibit the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from using new funding to conduct audits on individuals making less than $400,000 per year.
The Senate failed to adopt a similar amendment from Sen. Mike Crapo (R-ID) after all 50 Democrats opposed it.
