WASHINGTON, Aug. 5 -- Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Virginia, issued the following news release on Aug. 4, 2022:
U.S. Sens. Mark R. Warner and Tim Kaine (D-VA) met with Randy Clarke, the new General Manager of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). During the introductory meeting, Clarke briefed the Senators on the status of the Silver Line project, discussed ways to increase affordability and ridership, and provided an overview of the challenges still facing WMATA.
