VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia, July 28 -- The U.S. Navy's U.S. Fleet Forces Command issued the following news:
Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship namesake, USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41) held a decommissioning ceremony at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Va. on July 22 before its inactivation next month.
