WASHINGTON, July 26 -- Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, issued the following news release and letter on July 25, 2022:
U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), members of the Senate Finance Committee, led Senate colleagues in sending a letter to Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner Charles Rettig requesting information about the tax return backlog. The letter also expressed concern about the broader effect budget constraints are having on taxpayers.
