Sen. Booker, Rep. Sherrill Lead Members of New Jersey Congressional Delegation in Requesting State Funeral for Last Surviving World War II Medal of Honor Recipient

PARSIPPANY, New Jersey, June 29 -- Rep. Mikie Sherrill, D-New Jersey, issued the following news release:

U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Representative Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ-11) led 11 members of the New Jersey Congressional Delegation in requesting President Biden grant a state funeral for Corporal Hershel "Woody" Williams, who was the last surviving Medal of Honor recipient from World War II. Corporal Williams, 98, passed away this morning in West Virginia.
