Sen. Brown Announces Nearly $200,000 for Social Science Research at Kent State University

WASHINGTON, June 28 -- Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, issued the following news release:

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded a $199,786 grant to Kent State University to research the spread of misinformation on social media. The project will study misleading anti-vaccination messaging and intentional misinformation campaigns on Twitter to see how these messages affect vaccine hesitancy.
