JACKSONVILLE, Florida, June 18 -- The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity issued the following news:
Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the Jacksonville area's unemployment rate decreased to 2.3 percent over the year, down from 4.0 reported in May 2021. The Jacksonville area's private sector employment increased by 36,100 jobs, or 5.5 percent, over the year. The Jacksonville area's labor force also increased by 4.4 percent (+35,199) over the year in May 2022. . . .
