Ga. U.S. Attorney: 5 People Face Federal Charges for Fraudulently Obtaining COVID-19 Relief Funding

SAVANNAH, Georgia, June 14 -- The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgi, David H. Estes, issued the following news release:

Five people face charges including bank and wire fraud for allegedly using false information to secure thousands of dollars in COVID-19 relief funds.

The charges, via indictments or informations, accuse the defendants of applying for Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding by using false financial information, . . .
