TUCSON, Arizona, May 13 (TNSPol) -- Earthjustice issued the following news release:
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a landmark 2019 ruling that blocked approval of a mile-wide open-pit copper mine in Arizona's Santa Rita Mountains. The Rosemont Mine would have generated 1.9 billion tons of toxic mining waste that would have buried more than 3,500 acres of National Forest System lands containing dozens of prehistoric tribal sites.
