WASHINGTON, April 7 -- Rep. Anthony Brown, D-Maryland, issued the following news release:
Congressman Anthony G. Brown (MD-04) and Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) introduced the Educators Expense Deduction Modernization Act, H.R. 7395, which would quadruple the amount educators are able to deduct from their taxes for out-of-pocket classroom expenses. The current deduction is $250, the legislation would increase that to $1,000 and continue to index it to inflation.
