WASHINGTON, March 25 -- Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Maryland, issued the following news release on March 24, 2022:
U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) today welcomed Hitachi Rail's announcement that Hagerstown, Maryland will be the site of its new train factory which will produce the new 8000-series railcars for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). Hitachi estimates that the facility will sustain 1,300 jobs, with 460 of them employed directl . . .
