WASHINGTON, March 21 -- Rep. Robert J. Wittman, R-Virginia, issued the following news release on March 20, 2022:
Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) announced his resolution, introduced with Representative Joe Courtney (CT-02), honoring the Centennial of Navy Aircraft Carriers. On March 20, 1922, following a two-year conversion at Norfolk Naval Yard, the former USS Jupiter (Collier #3) was recommissioned as the United States Navy's first Aircraft Carrier USS Langley (CV 1).
