Researchers and clinicians in the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine have determined osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) is an effective method to reduce pain and disability in patients with chronic neck pain. Chronic nonspecific pain, unlike acute pain, is defined as lasting three months or longer, where no specific pathoanatomical cause can be identified.
