TOPEKA, Kansas, Feb. 5 -- The Kansas Democratic Party issued the following news release on Feb. 4, 2022:

As legislators on both sides of the aisle work to pass Governor Kelly's plan to Axe the Food Tax - eliminating the state's high food sales tax and saving Kansans an average of $500 every year - Derek Schmidt continues to try to rewrite history regarding his track record of raising taxes on Kansas families.
