University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization: Astronomy Continues to Significantly Impact Hawaii Economy

HONOLULU, Hawaii, Jan. 31 (TNSRep) -- The University of Hawaii issued the following news release:

Astronomy in Hawaii supports employment of 1,313 residents and had a total economic impact (output of goods and services) of $221 million on the state in 2019, according to a University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization (UHERO) update released January 30, 2022. The update found that astronomy generated $110 million in direct expenditures in Hawaii--purchases from local businesses . . .
