WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 -- Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Maryland, issued the following news release:
Two years to the day after Virginia became the 38th state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), U.S. Senators Ben Cardin (D-Md.) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) continue to lead the Senate effort to remove an arbitrary deadline that serves only to prevent the formal adoption of what should be the 28th Amendment to the Constitution.
