KINGSTON, Rhode Island, Dec. 18 (TNSRes) -- The University of Rhode Island issued the following news:
When algae blooms occur in Narragansett Bay, a wide variety of tiny marine organisms quickly multiply and consume most of the oxygen in the water. Some of those organisms are bacteria. But little is known about the innumerable viruses called bacteriophage that feed on the bacteria to keep them under control.
