Rep. Butterfield Introduces Legislation to Boost American Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Workforce

WASHINGTON, Nov. 20 -- Rep. G.K. Butterfield, D-North Carolina, issued the following news release:

This week, Congressman G. K. Butterfield (NC-01) introduced The Making Essential Drugs in America Act (MEDS Act). This legislation allows the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to award grants to institutions of higher education and certified apprenticeship programs to establish American Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Worker Training Centers of Excellence.
