SACRAMENTO, California, Oct. 26 -- Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-California, issued the following proclamation on Oct. 25, 2021:
During Filipino-American Heritage Month, we celebrate the birthday of trailblazing Filipino-American labor leader, organizer and California Hall of Fame Inductee Larry Itliong. On this day in 1913, Larry Itliong was born in San Nicolas, Pangasinan - a province of the Philippines. At the age of 15, he left his homeland and arrived in the United States in 1929.
