WASHINGTON, Oct. 26 -- Rep. Ted Budd, R-North Carolina, issued the following statement on Oct. 25, 2021:

H.R. 5142 passed the House unanimously. The bill will posthumously award the Congressional Gold Medal to the 13 U.S. military servicemembers who were killed in Afghanistan on August 26, 2021.
Rep. Budd helped introduce this bill on September 1st. The bill was led by Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI).
