Sen. Hyde-Smith Signs Onto 'Be Gone' Act to Block, Deport Convicted Sex Criminals From the U.S.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 13 -- Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, R-Mississippi, issued the following news release:

To correct a shortcoming in the nation's immigration law, U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) is cosponsoring legislation to include sexual assault and aggravated sexual violence in the definition of felonies that trigger deportation of illegal immigrants convicted of such crimes.
