WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 -- Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Missouri, issued the following news release on Sept. 22, 2021:
U.S. Senators Roy Blunt (Mo.) and Sherrod Brown (Ohio) introduced the bipartisan Ulysses S. Grant Bicentennial Recognition Act. The legislation requests President Biden posthumously promote Grant to General of the Armies of the United States, the highest rank in the U.S. Army. U.S. Representative Ann Wagner (Mo.) introduced similar legislation in the House.
