WASHINGTON, Sept. 17 (TNSRes) -- The Center for Economic and Policy Research issued the following news release on Sept. 16, 2021:

As the economy emerged from pandemic lockdown, over 4.2 million jobs were added in the first half of 2021, and the rate of job openings hit record highs. Yet, the transition from unemployment to employment is lower than expected.
