MCCONNELL AFB, Kansas, Sept. 14 -- The U.S. Air Force McConnell Air Force Base (22nd Air Refueling Wing) issued the following news on Sept. 13, 2021:
A Kansas Medal of Honor POW completes his 70-year journey home Sept. 29, with a funeral mass in Park City and burial in Wichita.
Army Chaplain (Capt.) Emil J. Kapaun, of Pilsen, Kansas, died in 1951 as a prisoner of war during the Korean War.
His remains will be flown from the National Memorial Cemetery of the . . .
