Mike Bost, R-Illinois, ranking Republican member of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, issued the following opening statement on Sept. 13, 2021, at the start of the committee's markup of the fiscal 2022 budget reconciliation package, which includes an additional $18 billion dollars for the Veterans Affairs Department:
