AKRON, Ohio, Sept. 11 -- Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, issued the following news release on Sept. 10, 2021:
Congressman Tim Ryan (OH-13) today announced that the City of Akron has received $7,544,233 in federal funding to hire additional firefighters through the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program. This program is administered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
