WASHINGTON, Sept. 9 -- Rep. Nikema Williams, D-Georgia, issued the following news release on Sept. 8, 2021:
Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05), signed on to bipartisan legislation that would posthumously award the Congressional Gold Medal to the 13 U.S. military servicemembers who were killed in Afghanistan on August 26, 2021. Originally introduced by Congresswoman Lisa McClain (MI-10) last week, the legislation now has 241 cosponsors.
