TOPEKA, Kansas, Sept. 1 -- Rep. Jake LaTurner, R-Kansas, issued the following news release on Aug. 31, 2021:
Congressman Jake LaTurner co-sponsored legislation introduced by Congresswoman Lisa McClain (R-MI) to posthumously award the Congressional Gold Medal to the 13 U.S. military servicemembers who were killed in Afghanistan last week:
"Our hearts are heavy following the disgraceful terrorist bombing in Kabul. These thirteen American heroes gave their lives evacu . . .
