WASHINGTON, Aug. 25 -- Rep. G.K. Butterfield, D-North Carolina, chairman of the House Administration Subcommittee on Elections, issued the following statement on Aug. 24, 2021, after the House passed the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 4), legislation to restore the full strength of the Voting Rights Act:
