WASHINGTON, Aug. 20 -- Rep. Adam B. Schiff, D-California, issued the following news release on Aug. 18, 2021:
Reps. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Steve Chabot (R-Ohio), co-chairs of the bipartisan Congressional Freedom of the Press Caucus, sent a letter to President Joe Biden saying the United States must offer safe passage and transport out of Afghanistan for journalists and media staff at risk of violence or death under Taliban rule.
