WASHINGTON, Aug. 20 -- Rep. Ron Estes, R-Kansas, issued the following news release:
The Department of Defense has designated the South Kansas Defense Manufacturing Community (DMC). The National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) led the campaign for this designation at Wichita State University. Along with being named a DMC, the region is now eligible for $5 million in funding in support of prototyping.
