OXFORD, Mississippi, Aug. 19 (TNSBook) -- The University of Mississippi issued the following news release:

Acclaimed fiction writer Deesha Philyaw has been named the 2022-23 John and Renee Grisham Writer-in-Residence at the University of Mississippi.

Philyaw is the prize-winning author of the short story collection "The Secret Lives of Church Ladies" (West Virginia University Press, 2020), which won the 2021 PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction, the 2021 Story Prize . . .
