NORFOLK, Virginia, Aug. 10 -- Rep. Elaine Luria, D-Virginia, issued the following news release on Aug. 9, 2021:
Congresswoman Elaine Luria today lauded Governor Northam and the Virginia General Assembly for directing $114 million in federal funds, made possible by the American Rescue Plan, to increase funding for state police and law enforcement. The funding includes $62 million in hazard pay and compensation for public safety officials, $35 million to address COVID-19 in correction . . .
