On October 15, 2021, Southwestern University will welcome Ruth J. Simmons as the guest speaker for the Roy and Margaret Shilling Lecture. The title of her talk is "Diversity in Higher Education: How Far Have We Come?"
Simmons is the president of Prairie View A&M University, in Prairie View, Texas. She previously served as president of Brown University from 2001 to 2012 . . .
